The Weyand Cemetery is located on a scenic overlook at the end of Wolff Lane, off FM 1457 between Round Top and Shelby. The graves lie on private property under sprawling oaks near two old barns and a farmhouse. Three separate wrought iron fences surround some of the fifteen marked graves.
The cemetery lies on property that was once part of the old Nassau Plantation. Peter Carl Johann von Rosenberg bought eight hundred undeveloped acres of the plantation, along with its manor house, in 1850. The two barns that are pictured in the background are believed to date back to the days of the Nassau Plantation. Von Rosenberg later moved into Round Top and sold the property to Georg Weyand, who is buried here with his wife Justine and some of their descendants.
